Ian Witthoeft has served as Organist and Choir Director at various Episcopal churches in New Jersey. He has also been active in the event entertainment industry performing at Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Corporate and Private Events from the NYC Metro Area to London, England.
Over the last few years, Ian has worked as Managing Director and Partner of From Bach to Broadway, LLC, a classical musician talent and booking agency. Through the company he has produced concert series in various churches and community centers, produced concerts in association with Pan-American Research Institute and the Latin American Cultural Week in NYC, produced a concert to benefit the victims on the earthquake in Haiti entitled “La Combite Pour Haiti – Musicians Coming Together for Haiti”. He can also be found as an executive producer on several CD’s including MSR Classics recent release “Beauty in America” featuring the music of modern living composers.
Ian attended County College of Morris where he studied piano performance and accompanying with and Vocal Performance/Choral Conducting. In the style of an old world education, he studied for several years as an apprentice under Organist and Composer Steve Giammarino. In his time with Mr. Giammarino, he studied organ performance, hymnody, choral conducting, composition/arranging, and organ building and repair.
Currently, Ian performs with various chamber ensembles and choirs throughout North Jersey. He is an active freelance accompanist having worked with many notable vocalists and instrumentalists. He is involved with the Diocese of Newark Vocare community as Assistant Lay Director and Musician. Ian is Executive Director of Oak Creek Productions and is currently working on several classical and crossover projects throughout the NYC Metro Area. Ian resides in Oakland with his grandmother Ruth, girlfriend Liana Stec and their cat Tigger.
