EVENT DETAILS

The "Brake the Hunger Cycle Tour" is a daylong biking event where participants ride one of five routes ranging in length from four to sixty-two miles through scenic Morris County, New Jersey.  All rides begin and end at the St. David’s Episcopal Church parking lot (91 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405, see MAP for driving directions).

The day features:

  • Five biking routes ranges from an easy 4-miler to the 62-mile "Metric Century".

  • Rest stops on the longer routes (twelve, twenty-five, forty and sixty-two miles) where volunteers support the riders with drinks, snacks and route guides.

  • Bike technicians available for tire inflation, final check, minor tune-up

  • Support And Gear vehicles (SAG) will continuously sweep the routes to assist riders as necessary.

  • The first 100 registrants will receive a specially designed event T-shirt as well as a “goodie bag”.

  • Tom “Duke” Snyder’s famous barbeque provides the perfect ending to the day.

  • Live music will be presented by New Jersey's AisleFive rock band (www.aislefiveband.com).

  • Door prizes will be awarded at the BBQ.

  • Child care will be made available upon prior request

Changes have been made to last year’s routes to enhance, even further, the day’s fun.   The “Metric Century” has been added to our routes that allow riders to enjoy picturesque Morris County where turkey, deer, pheasants, alpacas and other animals live side-by-side with local residences.  The “killer hill” finish of the forty-mile ride has been removed by popular demand and been replaced by a more fitting finale.

Participants receive a discount by registering prior to the event.  Discounts are also available for youth riding the four mile route as well as groups of three or more registering in advance for the longer routes.  See the registration section for sign-up.
